Thato kematla Day
On Saturday 28th July, Alpha Technologies, joined forces with RADA and spent a day with the Orange Farm orphanage Thato Kematla. Every year we gather to give back to the community for a day of music, food and entertainment. Thato Kemathla is an orphanage run by the wonderful and caring Disebo. The home currently houses 31 children aged from 3 months to 18 years. There are a few ladies who volunteer their time to make sure these precious children are cared for. Thanks to generous donors, their monthly food and staff are sponsored, ensuring that the children are provided for.
Saturday morning started off with us delivering much appreciated groceries/blankets and winter clothing to the children. A vibrant drumming session where each child participated with a drum, learning different rhythms and singing along to cultural songs set the tone for a vibrant and interactive event. . Whilst the team from Alpha Technologies grabbed a few paint brushes and painted the homes boundary wall, we had a staff member from Clamber Club entertain outside with various physical activities such as tug of war and soccer. Thanks to Rada we had a braai fired up where we were able to provide delicious boerie rolls and cold drinks for lunch whilst the children enjoyed music from the South African Production The Colour Purple.
